Land use land cover change detection in the lower Bhavani basin, Tamil Nadu, using geospatial techniques

چکیده

Land use land cover (LULC) change detection is essential for sustainable development, planning and management. This study was an attempt to evaluate the LULC in lower bhavani basin from 2014 2019, using Landsat 8 data integrating Google Earth Engine (GEE) as a web-based platform Geographic Information System. The CART Random Forest classifiers GEE were used performing supervised classification. classified map accuracy assessed high resolution imagery evaluated confusion matrix implemented GEE. Five major classes, viz., agriculture, built up, current fallow, forest waterbody, identified, dominant area agriculture followed by of forest. During period (2014–2019) inbuilt-up 7.37% 2019 5.45% 2014, noted due urban sprawl. showed significant versatility proved be effective detection.
